Giorgio Botta is a regulatory policy advisor specialised in European sustainable finance policy. Over the past years, he has worked on the development and implementation of EU regulation on ESG matters affecting the banking and asset management industry. Since May 2021, he is a Senior Associate at AFME, the Association for Financial Markets in Europe, representing global and European banks and other significant capital market players. There, he contributes to the development of policy and advocacy on behalf of the Association’s members. Previously, Giorgio Botta was a regulatory policy advisor at EFAMA, where he notably worked on sustainability disclosures, corporate governance and stewardship issues. He has experience in on SMEs policy, portfolio management and trading of energy commodities.
Giorgio holds and International Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Bologna, and a postgraduate degree in Economic Diplomacy and International Business from the Free University of Brussels.
